TOMORROW: PRE-WEIGH-IN OF TOSHIAKI
NISHIOKA AND JOHNNY GONZALEZ
The World Boxing Council announces that tomorrow at noon in its offices located at # 33 Genova Street, 5th floor, Mexican fighter Johnny Gonzalez will step on the scale to comply with the requirement of the thirty-day pre-weigh-in stated by the WBC regulations, prior to his bout for the Superbantamweight world title, against current champion, Toshiaki Nishioka, from Japan, a fight that will be held this May 23rd, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
World title holder, Nishioka will do the same in Tokyo, Japan, and we will timely be releasing information when his pre-weigh-in is carried out.
Gonzalez (27), former Bantamweight world champion, has a record of 40 wins (34 knockouts) and 6 losses, and will be getting his second shot at the Superbantamweight title.
On the other hand, southpaw Nishioka (32), has shaped a record of 33 wins; 20 of them by knockout and 6 losses, and will be defending his title for the second time.
