Dear All:
I am very pleased to be able to inform you that finally I have had success in obtaining a boxing commission to host our general meeting. This is thanks to Mr. George Shepherd, Vice President of the Barbados Boxing Board of Control.
The general meeting of CABOFE will be held in Barbados. Arriving on Sept. 18 and departing on Sept. 20, 2009. It is planned to start meeting on Sept. 18th if all are in, if not we will meet on the 19th all day.
The main agenda point will be a brief review of our present situation, suggestions as to how we can strengthen CABOFE and the election of a new Board, which is an urgent matter.
Should any Commission have any other agenda points that they would like to place on the agenda, please let me know as soon as possible.
The Barbados BBC will cover all the local expenses and also the expenses for the meeting. It will be a business meeting and going directly to the agenda without a special opening ceremony due to lack of time. But I hope that after the elections we can have a good time.
The Barbados BBC and CABOFE will cover the lodging (hotel) expenses for one delegate to a Commission, so that the major expense you
will have is the payment of your airfare to and from Bridgetown,
Barbados. This I assume should not be a major problem.
The countries to which an invitation will be sent are Aruba, Curacao, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Trinidad, Jamaica, Dominican Republic.. Guyana, Mexico, Venezuela, Virgin Islands, Sint Maarten, Dominica, Grenada and Bonaire.
I kindly ask you to make your reservation as soon as possible and let me know by email the flight and time you will arrive on the Sept. 18th and also your departure on Sept. 20th.
I am also pleased to announce that our President Mr. Jose Sulaiman has offered to pay for a closing meal. I am very grateful for this offer.
