El boxeo televisado en vivo vuelve a la zona de Los Ángeles el 30 de Julio.
(LOS ANGELES, CA) Durante más de un siglo, Los Ángeles ha sido
considerada como una de las mayores ciudades de boxeo en el mundo. Con una gran base de aficionados, Los Ángeles también ha sido la casa y el hogar fuera del hogar para muchos de los mejores y más excitantes boxeadores en la historia del deporte.
Desde mediados de los años 40, el boxeo ha tenido una interesante
relación con la televisión local y ahora, después de casi 10 años de
ausencia, está haciendo un esperado retorno .
A partir del Jueves 30 de Julio, KWHW-TV, Canal 22, en asociación con
Big Star Promotions pondrá en marcha una nueva serie de boxeo en vivo titulado “Noche de Boxeo”, una función mensual de dos horas de
duración que se transmitirá en vivo el último Jueves de cada mes.
La primera cartelera en un acuerdo de un año, será televisado desde El
Monte Expo Center de El Monte , California, comenzando a las 8:00 de la noche.
El Monte Expo Center está ubicado en 12051 Garvey Avenue, El Monte, California.
Una atracción especial es que contará con el ex campeón mundial de peso Ligero OMB “Mighty” Mike Anchondo (28-2, 19 KOs) quien sube de peso para enfrentar al Nicaragüense Octavio Narvaez en un combate en peso Welter.
En el evento principal, el peleador del Este de Los Ángeles Aaron
Martínez pondrá en juego su marca de (10-1-1, 3 KOs) contra el
talentoso prospecto local , Santiago Pérez (11-2-2, 2 KOs), hijo del
gran Ultiminio ” Sugar “Ramos, en la división de peso Superwelter.
En un combate a 8 rounds, en peso Superwelter Jose Celaya (31 – 4, 16 KOs) intentará volver encontrar la ruta ganadora, después de su derrota ante Julio César Chávez Jr, Su oponente será el Estadounidense Gary Young.
En el respaldo, Francisco Mora se enfrentará al Ruso Khamidsohn Atazhanov en una pelea a 4 asaltos, el peso Superwelter. En otra
pelea, Demetrio Soto combatirá a 4 giros contra un oponente por
determinar.

Live televised boxing returns to
the Los Angeles area on July 30th
(Los Angeles CA).- For over a century, Los Angeles has been regarded as one of the greatest boxing cities in the world. With a large fan base, Los Angeles has also been the home and the home-away-from home for many of the best and most exciting boxers in the history of the sport.
Since the mid 40`s, local boxing has had an interesting relationship
with local television and now, after almost 10 years of absence, it is
making a long-awaited return into the Southern California homes.
Starting on July 30th, KWHW-TV, Channel=2
022, in association with Big Star Promotions will launch a new live boxing series entitled “Noche de Boxeo” , a monthly two-hour feature to be presented live on the last Thursday of every month.
The inaugural card on a one-year agreement, will be televised from the
El Monte Expo Center in El Monte on July 30th starting at 8:00 PM.
The El Monte Expo Center is located at 12051 Garvey Avenue, El Monte, California.
A special attraction will feature former WBO Lightweight world champion “Mighty” Mike Anchondo (28-2, 19 KOs) moving up in weight to take on Nicaragua`s Octavio Narvaez in a Welterweight contest.
In the main event East L.A.`s Aaron Martinez will put his (10-1-1, 3
KOs) record on the line against local prospect, Santiago Perez (11-2-2, 2 KOs) the son of the great Ultiminio “Sugar” Ramos, in the Superwelterweight division.
In an 8-round Welterweight contest. Jose Celaya (31-4, 16 KOs) will
attempt to get back on the winning track after his loss to Julio Cesar
Chavez Jr. in an 8-round junior Middleweight bout, against Gary Young.
In the undercard, Francisco Mora will face Russian Khamidsohn Atazhanov in a 4-round bout in the Superwelterweight division. Demetrio Soto will fight a 4 round bout against an opponent to be determined.
