Boxing Day!!!!!!
On October 22nd, 2009, a group of young and not-so young people from the boxing community will participate in “A Shout Out to Boxing” on the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum. Our hope is to entertain and inspire the 250 NYC Teenagers who’ve been invited. WBC World Boxing Cares, in conjunction with Athletes for Hope and the NYC Board of Education are working together to make this a great day for the kids, and our sport. This is being done as part of the Intrepid’s “Power of One Series: Overcoming Obstacles.” I don’t know anyone in this community who hasn’t climbed a mountain, big or small. We’ve found that sharing our stories can make a difference in a child’s life. The motto of WBC World Boxing Cares is “Big Champions Supporting Little Champions.” Next Thursday, every child in that room will know that with a dream, hard work and a little luck, they all have the potential to be champions at something!
