<p>JOE DWYER TOOK UP<br />
AS NABF PRESIDENT</p>
<p>Today´s morning the work sessions of the mini convention carried out by the World Boxing Council actually finished, once again being staged in the very beautiful city of Cancun.</p>
<p>Joe Dwyer, from the U.S.A., took up as President of the North American Boxing Federation amid loud applause, congratulations and all the usual things in this sort of ceremonies.</p>
<p>All the people who sat at the presidium took the microphone and addressed the audience: Jose Sulaiman, Mauricio Sulaiman, Rex Walker, Claude Jackson, Ed Pearson, and Melvina Lathan, Commissioner from New York who at the beginning of all this had the floor making a long apologia of Dwyer and the several works that have been carried out up to now in this meeting named Latin American Congress and NABF Convention.</p>
<p>All the participants agreed on the fact that Dwyer will do a great job regarding the management that is awaiting him and that will last for four years to come.</p>
<p>Our Executive Secretary, Mauricio Sulaiman, thanked the Mexican group for their attending the entire meeting.</p>
<p>Joe Dwyer, new NABF President, when it was his turn, was received with<br />
long-lasting applause, and after a brief speech, he ended by thanking his “Friends from Mexico”.</p>
<p>World Boxing Council President spoke about the four years of Rex Walker as President of the organization, welcomed the new Chairman, Joe Dwyer, and congratulated the outgoing President.</p>
<p>The people who sat at the presidium were: Jose Sulaiman, Rex Walker, Melvina Lathan, Mauricio Sulaiman, Joe Dwyer, Ed Pearson, Claude Jackson, Juan Sanchez, Robert Lenhardt and Bismarck Morales.</p>
<p>At the end of the meeting, and in a fully festive atmosphere, several objects, all of them boxing-related, such as books, magazines, photographs, banners and t-shirts, were raffled among the participants.</p>
<p>Generally, the conviction of having carried out a positive kind of work, remained in all the attendants; moreover, during the three days of working sessions, and as it is usual, an atmosphere of camaraderie, friendship and good wishes for everyone reigned.</p>

<p>EVERYTHING SET FOR THE BOXING<br />
EVENTS IN XCARET AND CANCUN</p>
<p>The report from Quintana Roo has informed us of the fact that everything is set for the events that Xcaret and Cancun will witness as of tomorrow and up to this Saturday, counting on the attendance of great personalities of the ring such as: “Manos de Piedra” Duran, Alexis Arguello, Pipino Cuevas, “Chiquita” Gonzalez and Lupe Pintor.<br />
Another top-level fighter who will also be present is Sergio “Maravilla” (Marvel) Martinez from Argentina, WBC Superwelterweight world champion and one of the best fighters nowadays, talking about technical skills.<br />
In addittion to the terrific evening that will take place in Xcaret, featuring the charismatic and promising Saul “Canelo” Alvarez from Jalisco, Mexico, together with other fighters who will take part in the main bout, showing the best there is in their division in the present time, we refer to the fight that will be held between Mexican fighter Omar Niño, former Lightflyweight world champion, and Juanito Rubillar, from The Philippines.<br />
Promoters Ricardo Maldonado and Pepe Gomez are more than optimistic regarding the expected success of this card in every respect. The show will be offered to the fans from Quintana Roo who have already become experts, as well as to millions of fans that will watch it on TV in the whole Mexican Republic and other parts of the planet.<br />
The card will take place on Saturday in that paradise known as Xcaret.<br />
Previously, from Wednesday to Friday, Commissioners from all parts of the American Continent will gather to shape several very interesting Congresses.<br />
There will be people from almost all locations of the Continent, from Alaska to Argentina.<br />
The NABF (North American Boxing Federation), whose current President, American &#8211; Mexican, Rex Walker, has announced its annual Convention as well as elections for the Presidency of the group.<br />
Matters of extreme importance will also be addressed, having to do with boxing in the region, and as if this were not enough, a Latin American boxing Congress will be shaped, with three organizations affiliated to the World Boxing Council    &#8211; just like the NABF &#8211;  taking part.<br />
We are talking about FESUBOX (South American Boxing Federation), FECARBOX (Central American Boxing Federation), and CABOFE (Caribbean Boxing Federation).</p>
