Last night in Manchester, on the (annoyingly) non-televised portion of the show at The M.E.N Arena, former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli of Wales lost yet again. Coming back after a shock 9th-round TKO defeat at the hands of Ola Afolabi in March (this loss being just one fight removed from Enzo’s quick KO loss at the hands of David Haye), Maccarinelli wanted to get his career back on track against unbeaten Russian contender Denis Lebedev. He failed.

Coming in once again as the favourite according to most experts, 28-year-old Maccarinelli, with new trainer Karl Ince working with him (Ince having replaced Enzo Calzaghe) was battered to defeat for a fourth time in total.. Okay, we can pretty much forget the 2000 loss to Lee Swaby, but the big-hitting Welshman, in being hammered to a 3rd-round TKO defeat by the 29-year-old Russian southpaw, has now lost three of his last four fights.
