Erik Morales from Tijuana, will hold his second comeback fight against Vicente Escobedo from California next July 17th at the “Estadio Caliente” in Tijuana, Baja California Mexico.
This was reported by Morales on Thursday by phone from Tijuana, which added that the contest will be for the WBC international welterweight title, who won before against Jose Alfaro from in March.
After a break of two and half years, Morales returned with a decision win against Jose Alfaro last March in Monterrey and now will be to his audience that always supported him in his native Tijuana.
The fight will have a great promotion, press conferences in the cities of Los Angeles, Tijuana and Mexico, which will be announced in the coming days and the function will be broadcast on Televisa, said the fighter.
Vicente Escobedo, 28 years old, has a record of 22 wins with 14 knockouts and two defeats. In his amateur career was representing the United States in the Athens Olympic Games-04.
Among his best rivals are former world champions Kevin Kelley, Carlos “Famoso” Hernandez and Michael Katsidis; the current WBO Interim Lightweight World Champion.
