THE  10 POINTS MUST FOR ELECTROLYTES

 1. Sweating causes the body to lose fluid and sodium (salt) = dehydration

 2. Dehydration impairs both physical and mental performance.

 3. Dehydration potentially leads to:- heat stress, collapse and even death.

 4. Dehydration severely impairs:- Reaction time, Judgment, Concentration and decision making.

 5. Dehydration increases risk of brain injury.

 6. Plain water only replaces fluid (it does not replace sodium)

 7. Electrolytes are NOT performance enhancing drinks.

 8. Approved electrolyte drinks do not contain any banned or illegal substances.

 9. The sodium/glucose in electrolytes help to  keep the fluid longer in your system.

10. Well hydrated boxers perform better.

Conclusion
Dehydration is a common condition that can affect the health and performance of athletes. Having athletes follow an individualized hydration program, which includes the consumption of a properly formulated sports drink, is one of the most effective ways to prevent dehydration to help keep athletes safe and performing at their best.
