| O’CONNOR MOVES TO 7-0 TOP JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT PROSPECT THRILLS LOCAL FANS WITH WIN OVER HAMEL |
| HOLLYWOOD, FL, June 28 – You could say it was lucky number seven for hot junior welterweight prospect Danny O’Connor Saturday night at The Roxy in Boston, Massachusetts, but when you win by shutout scores of 60-54 on all three judges’ cards, there’s no luck involved.
The victory, O’Connor’s seventh in seven pro fights, was his first six round test against 31 fight veteran Sebastien Hamel, and the Framingham, Massachusetts native passed with flying colors in front of scores of local fans who cheered on the 2008 US Olympic team alternate. “This was another big win for Danny, and we couldn’t be prouder,” said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing, O’Connor’s promoter. “He was in tough and he delivered when the bell rang. We’ve got big plans for Danny, and the rest of the 140-pound division had better get ready for him.” |
