As initially announced, Panamanian Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion will be the challenger of Fernando “KO-chulito” Montiel, for the WBC bantamweight world championship next Saturday in the “Plaza de Toros” of Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas Mexico.
Guillermo Brito, of Zanfer promotions, said that the people of Eric Morel sent us a statement where they say he was hurt in practice last Thursday and may not meet the fight.
The WBC has already approved the fight and Concepcion will come to Mexico this Monday.
On that same card will be Reyes Sanchez defending his continental WBC lightweight title against Armando Robles, and Ivette Zamora will put in risk her strawweight world junior crown with a challenger yet to be defined. Another bout will be headed by Alex Lopez against Ricardo “Piolo” Castillo on the featherweight division.
