The promoter and former champion Oscar de la Hoya, who has in his ranks Saul Alvarez said that CANELO is already scheduled for his next fight which will take place next September in Los Angeles California.
“We already have the support of the WBC, we talked with Jose Sulaiman and he agrees that we need to do something big, it would be in Los Angeles (California), that date is very important and for the followers would be very nice to have the “Canelo” Alvarez, for what it represents, plus it always be good to fight in different cities to make him wellknown,” De la Hoya said.
Although he accepted that the rival is not yet defined, since they want to do a thorough analysis of who is the ideal opponent for the “Canelo” but said he was still not ready to fight major rivals.
“Saul is learning fight by fight”, he is progressing and learning, we will know when he will be ready, Saul does not want to face any champion for his next two or three fights, we want to make sure he is ready to fight anybody and we are talking about the best in the world, so we want to know when he will be ready and there will be no concern against whom we are going to face him.
“He’s 19 years old and people must not forget that he is going very well, perhaps he is ready to face a champion, I know he’ll do fine, but we have to be hundred percent sure, because he still have a long life ahead. “
