Magsayo vs. Russell Jr. – Feather – MD 12 – Magsayo dethroned the longest reigning champion.

Makabu vs. Mchunu – Cruiser – MD 12 – Don King presnted Makabu’s defense against the mandatory contender.

Rodriguez vs. Cuadras – Superfly – UD 12 – Bam Bam defeated Cuadras and a star was born.

Taylor vs. Catterall – Superlight – SD 12 – Taylor defends the title in Scotland.

Teraji vs. Yabuki-Lt Fly-KO 3-KenShiro avenges his only loss and takes the title back.

Pradabsri vs. Menayothin – Straw-UD 12-Pradabsri confirms his supremacy over Menayothin.

Fundora vs. Lubin – Interim Super Welterweight – TKO 9 – Dramatic fight with both warriors hitting the canvass and a new interim champion is crowned.

Spence Jr. vs. Ugas – Welterweight – TKO 10 – Dallas Cowboys Stadium witnessed a sensational, action-packed unification match.

Fury vs. Whyte – Heavy – TKO 6 – 94,000 fans at Wembley with Fury stating he is the HW King.

Stevenson vs. Valdez – Superfeather – UD 12 – Shakur dominates and defeats Valdez. Jermell Charlo vs. Castano II Super Welterweight – KO 10 — Sensational rematch with an explosive knockout.

Benavidez vs. Lemieux – Interim Supermiddle – TKO 3 – David becomes champion for the third time in a dominant fashion.

Fulton vs. Roman – Superbantam – UD 12 —

Fulton makes mandatory WBC and WBO defenses simultaneously.

Haney vs. Kambosos Jr. – Light – UD 12 — Haney travels to Australia with all against him and defeats Kambosos to become the undisputed champion.

Inoue vs. Donaire – Bantam-TKO 2. – Inoue is a monster! He knocked out Donaire in a highly anticipated rematch.

Beterbiev vs. Smith Jr. – Lt. Heavy – TKO 2 —

Beterbiev defeats Smith in a highly expected unification match.

Rodriguez vs. Sor Rungvisai – Superfly – TKO 8 – Bam Bam did what Chocolatito, Estrada and Cuadras couldn’t do. He knocked out Sor Rungvisai and he is the new superstar of boxing.

Chiwandire vs.  Phiri – Interim Super bantamweight – SD 10

– WBC Vice President Rex Walker donated boxing equipment in Cozumel, Quintana Roo

– Campaigns and auctions were organized to support the champion Moisés Fuentes, who suffered injuries after a fight.

– Don José Santa Cruz, father of Leo Santa Cruz, was named “Champion for Peace”, in recognition of beating cancer and Covid-19.

– An event was held in Japan with wheelchair boxing and clinics to children and young people with champions such as Koki Kameda, Daiki Kameda, Takashi Koshimoto, Tatsuya Fukuhara, Yuko Kuroki, among others.

– A Conference was held focused on the delivery of food, water and clothing to people in need in Brazil.

– An event was held for Autism Awareness Month in South Africa.

– “LOVE WITHOUT BORDERS” was created as a special recognition for those who have put aside political affiliations, nationalism or self-interest and are instead making humanity their priority. An honor given to those who promote peace and security, care and well-being of those affected by war and violence.

– DEA Agent Rocky Herron gave interesting talks about drug use and the consequences it may provoke, not only for the user but for the people around them in Texas.

– Multiple visits to Aid Centers for children and schools in Thailand, offering gifts and food, along with champions.

– NABF and WBC Cares signed a pact to help link veterans and their families to services, primarily those facing mental health issues, in the United States.

– Together with Title Boxing, young people from the amateur team of Flaco’s Community Gym in Hollywood, Florida were supported with boxing equipment.

– Interesting talks were held for young people in New York, as part of the Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serranofight, with the presence of Jill Diamond, Iran Barkley, Jelena Mrdjenovich, Raja Amasheh, Nadim Salloum, actor, Holt McCallany, among other personalities.



The WBC, WBO and IBF got together in an urgent call to end the war in Ukraine with Russia’s invasion.

– BGaming and WBC have partnered with the Future Kyiv/Klitschko Foundation to provide financial support to the people of Ukraine with a donation of $100,000.

– A donation of various medicines was presented.


-The WBC, in association with “OPUS – The Luxury Book Company”, released the OPUS book of the WBC´s biggest fights. The official presentation of the book “The Best WBC Fights by OPUS” was held in the United Kingdom.

-The presentation of this magnificent book was also held at the Soumaya Museum in Mexico City. It was a majestic night where a group of great boxers were present accompanying Mauricio Sulaimán and the executive director of Opus, Karl Fowler.


– “Celta – Boricua” – Which includes the flags and symbols of Ireland and Puerto Rico. This one-of-a-kind trophy was created for the Taylor vs. Serrano epic match, as a special recognition of the world of boxing in addition to commemorating the Power of Women. Taylor defeated Serrano in a great match.

– “Union Belt” – A unique belt that was made as a special trophy to the winner of the highly anticipated fight between WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte. The Union Belt highlights special elements, to celebrate and commemorate the United Kingdom through boxing. The card was presented by Queensberry Promotions in association with Top Rank, winning the rights at a historic WBC pursebid for a historic amount of US$41,025,000.00. The fight was spectacular. Fury spectacularly defeated Whyte via KO, in front of 94 thousand spectators at Wembley Stadium in London.

– “Freedom Belt” – This is a special recognition to commemorate Juneteenth, a date that commemorates the day slavery was abolished in the state of Texas. This belt will be disputed at Jermall Charlo’s next match, to be announced soon.


– In the Zócalo of Mexico City, 14,299 people managed to successfully complete the boxing class taught by the champions Ana María Torres, Jackie Nava and Mariana Juárez, as well as the NABF champion, David Picasso, breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest boxing clinic with the largest number of contestants in the world.



– With luxury sponsors such as the bassist of the band Caifanes Sabo Romo and the actor Agustín Arana, the eighth edition of the “José Sulaimán” race was held with great success, where more than 2,500 runners participated.


– A series of tributes to former world champions was implemented, in order to honor and preserve their legacy. The WBC will always be before, during and after their years of glory in the ring. This project kicked off with Daniel Zaragoza, Lupe Pintor, Rafael Limón, Carlos Zárate, Humberto González, Alfonso Zamora, among other great and historical figures.

JC Chavez turned 60

Julio César Chávez turned 60 and was accompanied by friends, champions and fans in a wonderful event. Videos were shown with very emotional messages from Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Durán, Canelo Álvarez, Eddy Reynoso, among others.







– Great support has been given to amateur boxing in different countries, knowing that it is the basis of our sport. Important tournaments such as the following were successfully held: Forja De Campeões 2022 – Brazil, Green Belt Challenge in Los Angeles, WBC Tournament in Colorado, among others.



– The José Sulaimán Boxers Fund continues to support boxers and former boxers who are going through difficult times around the world. Economic support has been distributed in Nicaragua, Argentina, Italy, Romania, Spain, Mexico, the United States, Venezuela, among others.

-The Fund is independently managed by the Nevada Community Foundation and this year has awarded $135,000 to more than 70 former boxers.



– We continue to work for the benefit of society through one of our most important projects in recent years, supporting the reconstruction of the social tissue addressing the reintegration of people who made a mistake, but who have find a different way through boxing to rebuild his life. With the joint work with the programs “Knockout: do not throw in the towel” and “Boxing without Chains”, champions and former champions collaborate by offering motivational talks, boxing clinics and in this way, inspiration and hope is given to those who are deprived of freedom.




– Affiliation of Armenia and Albania to the WBC, in order to continue developing boxing in these important regions that have a promising future in the sport.



– WBC University integrates an international network of experts who guarantee that the experience and tradition of the organization is fully transferred in each of the courses offered.

-Through the Educaton – WBC University – Globaliversity alliance, it is possible to offer those who are part of the boxing world the opportunity to obtain the High School Certificate (issued by the SEP/DGB).


The WBC is extremely proud of the work that the Clean Boxing Program is developing around the world. Dr. Margaret Goodman has passionately dedicated many years of her life to trying to make boxing safer. Clean Boxing Program is now a reality because of the great work that VADA does day after day.

From January to July of this year, a total of 278 random tests were carried out in 32 countries, including boxers such as Tyson Fury, Dilliam Whyte, Deontay Wilder, Joe Joyce, Filip Hrgovic, Oscar Rivas, Ryan Rozicki, Ilunga Makabu, Arthur Beterbiev , Canelo Alvarez, David Benavidez, Sebastian Fundora, Jermell Charlo, Errol Spence, Josh Taylor, Devin Haney, Oscar Valdez, Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov, Rey Vargas, Jesse Rodriguez, Kenshiro Teraji, Panya Pradabsri, among others.

We thank all the boxers for their entire willingness and for being exemplary athletes who testify with their honesty and love of the sport.

– Eighth anniversary of being elected President of the WBC

-Travels to Albania, Dubai, Turkey, United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, USA, where he witnessed important fights and events and held productive meetings.

– He gave an interesting talk at a conference organized by FORJA and FULFILL, for high school students at the Anahuac University, in Mexico City.
