WBC orders Artur Beterbiev vs. Callum Smith

The World Boxing Council has ordered WBC light heavyweight champion, Artur Beterbiev, to make his mandatory defense against Callum Smith. Negotiations should start as soon as possible.

The teams of both fighters must reach an agreement before April 11, otherwise a purse bid must be held.

In his most recent bout, Beterbiev knocked out contender Anthony Yarde in 8 rounds in an instant Fight of the Year candidate, while Smith comes from knocking Mathieu Bauderlique out in the fourth round of a WBC elimination bout.

El Consejo Mundial de Boxeo ordenó al campeón semicompleto WBC, Artur Beterbiev, reaizar su pelea mandatoria contra Callum Smith. Las negociaciones deberán iniciarse a la brevedad posible.

Los equipos de ambos peleadores deberán llegar a un acuerdo antes del 11 de abril, de lo contrario se deberá realizar una subasta.

En su más reciente combate, Beterbiev noqueó en 8 rounds al duro contendiente Anthony Yarde, en una pelea que será considerada dentro de lo mejor del año.

Por su parte Smith, viene de conseguir uno de los mejores nocauts del 2022, derrotando en el cuarto round a Mathieu Bauderlique en combate eliminatorio WBC.
